First consecrated way back in 604, St Paul’s Cathedral has had to be rebuilt many times over its incredible lifespan including after its destruction in 1666’s Great Fire of London. The cathedral that you will find today, less than 10 minutes’ walk from the Hoop & Grapes, was designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1668 and has watched over London since its completion in 1711, somehow even surviving the Blitz bombings of World War 2.
